Here is a very quick composite example I did to show how one should color correct an image that is layered over another to make it match its background.  It is a big part of compositing and helps sell the realism.

In my example, the girl was a separate layer that I then color corrected, matched luminosity, brightness, and saturation. This took me about 20 minutes.
